Balk costs

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff October 24, 2007 10:29 PM

That balk -- the one made on the pickoff throw from Franklin Morales -- cost the Rockies another run. The balk moved Jacoby Ellsbury over to second base, and he scored on Kevin Youkilis's double to left field.

Oh, and he scored on David Ortiz's double to centerfield.

That was the Red Sox seventh double of the game. The Rockies have three doubles, which account for all of their hits today.

It's 8-1.
