Pedroia homers

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff October 21, 2007 11:01 PM

Dustin Pedroia took a mini leap -- and a major league fist pump -- as he came around first base. He had just hit a pitch from super reliever Rafael Betancourt into the first row of the Monster seats, bringing home Jacoby Ellsbury from third and giving the Red Sox a three-run cushion on the Indians in Game 7 of the ALCS.

By the time Pedroia reached home plate and David Ortiz, the slugger gave him a huge bear hug as Pedroia headed toward a nice reception in the dugout.

It's now 5-2, and the Red Sox are six outs from the World Series.
