Monday's schedule

Posted by Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff October 22, 2007 07:39 AM

Good morning, Sox fans.

As you clean up all those empty champagne bottles from last night's celebration following Boston's 11-2 win over Cleveland in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series, here's a look at today's schedule as we prepare for Game 1 of the World Series Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies.

  • Red Sox manager Terry Francona meets with the media at 1:45 p.m.

  • The Red Sox hold an optional workout at 2 p.m.

We'll have updates from Fenway later this afternoon. In the meantime, check out all of our coverage from last night, including our celebration photo gallery and video of Bob Ryan breaking down Game 7.

The start times for Games 1 and 2 of the World Series have been announced with Wednesday's first pitch scheduled for 8:35 p.m. and Thursday's at 8:29.

If you're looking for updates on the Rockies, hop over to our friends at RockyMountainNews.com. Here's a sampling of what you'll find:

  • Rockies writer Tracy Ringolsby answered some readers' emails following the Sox' victory Sunday night.

  • Pack some warm clothes if you're heading to Denver, as snow forced the Rockies to practice indoors Sunday.

  • It's not going to be easy -- or cheap -- for Rockies fans to attend a game at Fenway.

  • Sure, the Rockies have only been around for 15 years, but baseball goes way back in Denver.

  • If you're the artsy type, you'll be happy to know that both the Globe and Rocky Mountain News have stories today on both teams' playoff success being captured in paint.
