News from the Fens

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff October 19, 2007 03:27 PM

Other than Daisuke Matsuzaka throwing extremely long toss in the outfield right now, the biggest news out of the clubhouse/press availability was that there are no changes yet to the lineup for tomorrow's game. That, of course, doesn't mean there won't be changes.

As for manager Terry Francona's confidence in tomorrow's starter, Curt Schilling, it's absolute. Or as Francona said, "It's probably unfair. I mean, even dating back to the sock, and remember the soap opera watching him throw in the bullpen and having the doctors and trainers out there, and he really shouldn't have pitched. And I can't remember one moment ever thinking he wouldn't pitch, and not only that, but that he wouldn't win. And it probably wasn't fair. So I guess that kind of sums up how I feel about Schill."
