Jonathan Papelbon just got Hideki Okajima out of his jam, stranding both runners on base. He struck out Travis Hafner on a 98 mile per hour fastball, then got Victor Martinez on a fielder's choice, and Ryan Garko on a long fly ball to centerfield.

On to the top of the ninth with a 5-2 lead for the Sox.
