Schill files for free agency
Curt Schilling, who on his WEEI appearance this morning sounded like a man prepared to say goodbye, filed for free agency today. He was one of four Sox players who did so. The others: Eric Hinske, Bobby Kielty and Matt Clement.
The Sox retain exclusive negotiating rights to all four players for 15 days from the end of the World Series, but other clubs are free to contact the free agents, as long as they don't talk money (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
