Updates...ish
At this point, with no game since Sunday in Anaheim, there's just not a lot of new information coming out of the pregame press conferences with the Red Sox. We've been over just about everything from the previous series, everything about the upcoming series, and really just about everyone is ready for these games to get started.
Both Terry Francona and Curt Schilling did say that, in terms of preparation, having so many extra days hasn't really been a factor. Jason Varitek, for instance, hasn't done much more than he normally would to get the pitchers and game calling in line.
Francona also mentioned that, instead of his normal routine, getting his coffee, doing some errands, he eschews most of those tasks during the postseason. Instead, he heads to the park early (9:30 a.m. this morning) to ride the bike and "kick Pedroia's [tail]." That, of course, would be in cribbage.
We'll get some more information as the afternoon progresses.
