Welcome to Cleveland

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff October 14, 2007 03:34 PM

Well, we've landed here in Cleveland. (OK, well all did that quite a number of hours ago.)

The team arrived around 6 a.m. from Boston, after leaving the park at 2:30 a.m., and manager Terry Francona was looking a bit bleary at his press conference at 2:30 p.m. It can easily be understood. I'd say that most people around this team (players, staff, press) got just a couple of hours of sleep last night.

Not a huge showing for the players at today's voluntary workout at Jacobs Field. Just a few regulars (Jason Varitek, Dustin Pedroia).

Not much news out of the press conferences, also. Terry Francona did reiterate that Tim Wakefield would be starting Game 4 on Tuesday, rather than bringing Josh Beckett back on short rest.

That's about it from here. We'll have much more tomorrow, as the team gets ready for Game 3 in Cleveland.
