Boston Baseball Writers Dinner tickets

After a World Series championship and new deals for Curt Schilling and Mike Lowell, the Red Sox are in demand.

The Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association's annual dinner is Jan. 17 at the Westin Waterfront Hotel. Anyone wishing to purchase tickets ($135 a piece) should send a check to BBWAA, PO Box 7346, Nashua NH, 03060.

Lowell will be presented the Thomas A. Yawkey Award as the Red Sox MVP; Dustin Pedroia, will receive Red Sox Rookie of the Year; Josh Beckett, gets the Red Sox Pitcher of the Year; Jonathan Papelbon will receive the Red Sox Fireman of the Year. Other award receipients and special guests will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
