ORLANDO - Mike Lowell won't say too much about ongoing contract talks with the Red Sox, but the Sox third basman was happy for Kevin Youkilis winning his first Gold Glove.

"I am very happy for Youk on a well deserved award," Lowell wrote in an E-mail. "He definitely was a huge part of our success offensively and defensively and I am proud that he got the recognition for his hard work with this award. Hopefully this is just the start of a run of gold gloves for him."

Lowell was recently seen on the Home Shopping Network last Sunday and has been busy from the notoriety of winning the MVP of the World Series. A deep market for Lowell hasn't yet developed with the Phillies pulling back (or so they say) and the Yankees looking at trade possibilities becusethey believe Lowell will re-sign with Boston.

Agent Sam Levinson reiterated how much Lowell wants to stay in Boston last night. He met with Theo Epstein and his entourage at around midnight last night, but the talks again seemed informal.
