Mirabelli files

Posted by Gordon Edes, Globe Staff November 1, 2007 07:45 PM

Catcher Doug Mirabelli was the only Sox player to file for free agency today, becoming the sixth Sox player to do since the filing period began at midnight after the World Series ended. Mirabelli, who turned 37 on Oct. 18, hit .202 with 5 HRs and 16 RBIs in just 114 ABs, the fewest ABs he's had in any season since 1999.
