Theo leaves town

ORLANDO - Theo Epstein has left Orlando and is on his way back to Boston. The GM Meetings have concluded here with more table-setting for deals and free-agent signings than concrete news.

Epstein elaborated a bit more on the meeting with Scott Boras last night. He said a very small amount of time was devoted to discussion of Alex Rodriguez and most of the hour-plus meeting was to discuss Boras' current clients on the team. Epstein was somewhat miffed at media reports that portrayed the meeting as more elaborate and in depth.

Epstein said the Sox will continue to work on a deal to sign Mike Lowell, but left the meetings without an agreement on the popular third baseman.
