Forget Santana, it's time to talk tickets.

The Red Sox announced today that tickets will go on sale via the Internet and telephone this Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at 10 a.m. for 18 select April and May games as well as four-game packages called "Sox Pax."

The early season game tickets will be sold online at www.redsox.com or by calling 617-482-4SOX.

The club is also hosting the annual Christmas at Fenway event on Saturday. Those attendees were previously selected randomly from an online registration process and those fans have been notified and would have received information via e-mail. Only those individuals who were selected to attend the Christmas at Fenway event will be able to purchase tickets at the Fenway Park ticket office on Saturday.

According to the Sox press release, single game tickets go on sale Saturday for the following 18 April/May games: April 9-10 vs. Detroit Tigers; April 18-20 vs. Texas Rangers; April 22-24 vs. Los Angeles Angels; April 29-30 and May 1 vs. Toronto Blue Jays; May 2-4 vs. Tampa Bay Rays; and May 19-22 vs. Kansas City Royals.

Fans may purchase up to eight single-game tickets and up to two Sox Pax at a maximum of four tickets per package.

Nine different Sox Pax will be available for purchase. Each Sox Pax includes a ticket to four pre-selected games. Among those games available in Sox Pax are Opening Day (April 8 vs. the Tigers), selected Yankees games, some interleague games against the Cardinals, Brewers and Diamondbacks, as well as assorted weekend contests throughout the season.

Most single-game tickets -- including all Green Monster and Right Field Roof Deck tickets -- will go on sale in late January or early February.

Season tickets remain capped at about 21,500 full-season equivalents, and the waiting list is nearly 7,500. Fans may call 877-RED-SOX9 to join the list.

Material from the Red Sox media relations department was used in this report.
