Still awaiting word on Santana

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff December 4, 2007 12:23 AM

NASHVILLE - At this late hour we're still awaiting word on how tonight's Yankee-Twins pow-wow panned out. There's word from major league sources that the Yankees are still holding firm to their desire not to package Ian Kennedy along with Melky Cabrera and Phillip Hughes.

The Red Sox seemed to have a relatively quiet night, while the Mariners have indicated they're pretty much out of the Santana sweepstakes unless all things with the Red Sox and Yankees fall through with the Twins.
