Early morning at the Fort

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff February 22, 2008 08:29 AM

It's an early morning of workouts here at the minor league complex. With the golf tournament, benefitting the Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, on the schedule for this afternoon, everything was moved half an hour earlier -- clubhouse access, workouts, etc.

The players are now in a big meeting with the staff, where there will be some introductions, some explanations of the team and culture and much information imparted. Terry Francona yesterday acknowledged that this team doesn't have big group meetings very often, but this morning is one of the few.

It's also the first full team workout, so we'll actually get to see the guys on the field for the first time since last fall. Should be a good day.

  1. Amalie at least your not up here in New England where here in Connecticut we are getting 6-10 inches of white fluffiness.

Enjoy the warm weather and the workout.

  1. Amalie, guess there's no way to be a fly on the wall in the big meeting? Man, would I love to be a fly on the wall for that kind of thing!!
