Missing the boat (or plane)
It appears that Bartolo Colon encountered some logistical problems his flight last night, leaving Red Sox camp without the portly pitcher so far. He is expected to fly in this morning, and check in at camp later today. When Manny Ramirez was asked about the addition of Colon to the team, he didn't have much to offer: "I don't know," he said. "I'm not a pitching coach."
No, he's not.
Meanwhile, there's a giant RV outside the Red Sox clubhouse building. It's been there since yesterday afternoon, evidently as a location to shoot some video, since the Sox facilities are a bit lacking over here at the minor league facility. Terry Francona should be happy, for one, to head over to City of Palms Park later this week, since he'll return to having an office.

Do we really need an overweight, aged pitcher coming off an injury? His fastball doesnt reach 90mph anymore. There nothing he can offer that cant be gotten from one of the lower level kids (Masterson, Bowden, Snyder, etc.).
"since the Sox facilities are a bit lacking over here at the minor league facility"
it's really that bad?
"Terry Francona should be happy, for one"
who are the others & why?
in bartolo colon , whats this guy got left ?
this article tells me nothing
I'm guessing when Colon gets on a plane you have to readjust the luggage for proper weight distribution.
I would think that a writer for boston.com would be able to type better than most. You totally screwed up the first sentence. Typos are unacceptable.
Bartolo will help somewhere down the line I'm sure.
Not a bad pick up. His days as a starter may be limited or even done but he would be able to come out of the pen for an inning or two. We do need some help there.
