Today is Truck Day!
It's not exactly Groundhog Day, but it's as much a sign that spring is around the corner in New England as any shadow-seeking critter. That's right, Sox fans, Truck Day is here!

It probably won't cure your Patriots hangover, but it's at least a step in the right direction.
Boston.com's Steve Silva was there with his camera when the truck arrived at 7:35 a.m., and has built a photo gallery of the festivities. And if you want to see more photos of the truck being loaded up with bats, balls, and any other stuff the Sox might need in Fort Myers (a motorcycle or two, perhaps?), check out our photo gallery from last year's Truck Day. Or the one in 2006.
The Red Sox say the truck will depart from Gate B around 10 a.m. In past years, it left closer to 1 p.m.
Planning on heading to Fort Myers to catch the Sox at spring training? Be sure to check out our fan's guide to the area before you go.
Here are some key Sox spring training dates that are just around the corner:
Feb. 14 -- Pitchers and catchers are due to report to Fort Myers.
Feb. 16 -- First workout for pitchers and catchers.
Feb. 20 -- Reporting day for Sox position players.
Feb. 22 -- First Red Sox full squad workout.
Feb. 28 -- First Red Sox spring training game.

What time does the truck leave?
From Boston.com: The Red Sox say it'll leave around 10 a.m. on Saturday. In past years it was around 1 p.m.
Ah its like Christmas all over again. I love when the baseball season starts!
A much needed truck, especially at a disappointing time like this!
How much are the Red $ox Charging for a view of the truck?
Go Red $ox!
I would recommend, depending on what time the truck reaches Richmond, to follow I-295 around Richmond rather than through. However, if it hits Richmond at an off time (not around rush hour), going straight down I-95 through Richmond should be fine.
I wonder if the truck plans to pick up any fireworks in SC...
Truck Day, already! Thank you boston.com. you've made my day. A very happy thought, indeed!

p.s. thanks Manny for coming early!
How much did you pay for that Yankees hat Brendan? Go Sox!
I'm pretty sure only Red Sox Nation cardholders are admitted....
OMG! The truck is so much fun. I can actually watch people load equiptment onto a truck?!? That is so cool. It's better than the time I watched paint dry.
Thanks Boston.com for bringing sunshine to yet another snowy day here in Vermont. When that truck pulls out for Fort Meyers to me that is a sure sign that soon the warm temperatures will be here and this year spring will bring another ring ceremony at Fenway, how awesome is that?

Huh? "Truck day" is a sign that warm weather is almost here? Um, not even close. We are still 3 months away from warm weather. Why dont you pick something along the lines of March Madness, or The Masters, or something significant, like Opening Day? When the sox tank it five years from now, no one will give a crap about truck day. Keep up the loyalty, bandwagon fans
I think it's GREAT that the route takes the truck RIGHT THROUGH THE BRONX!
let's not forget what he did for us!
let this play out, I believe Shilling will do the right thing and void the contract if he isn'tt ready to go anytime this year
Type your comment here...This makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside reading about the RED SOX!
What will the Sox Truck Arrival Day prices be? I live near Fort Myers, and i can hardly wait to miss it. (I sold ice cream at Fenway Park in 1946 when the Sox with Ted Wms., Bobby Doerr, Dom Di Maggio et al lost to the Cardinals in the World Series. Ice cream was 25 cents and Truck Departure Day probably wasn't even announced.)
I hope the driver knows that the Pawtucket Bridge on I-95 is closed to trucks over 22 tons. Every day I see a truck pulled over by the RI State Police for trying to sneak across the bridge.
Will Truck Day be live on NESN ?
Will Truck Day be live on NESN ?
omg! People it's just a truck with gear in it get over it
A Great Time of the year! It is 81 degrees in West Palm Beach today. I got lucky and have tickets in Ft. Lauderdale, Ft.Myers, and Vero Beach. Short schedule before Japan trip. And as the ad says PRICELESS!
Egads....finally!!! After that crap with the Patriots I need my Red Sox to pull me out of the slump!
Truck Day!
It's not even noon yet, and I want two Fenway franks right now.
Lame.
I hope we can track the truck's progress to Florida on the Internet just like the plane that brought Dice-K back from Calif.
That was soooooo exciting.
We have almost made it through another winter. Will the truck bring a replacement shoulder for Schilling?

Oh, glorious Truck Day!
It's not even noon and yet I am craving two Fenway franks.
COME ON guys, all you people that are making fun of this. Where ELSE, and what other team would anybody care about a freakin TRUCK. It's awesome, it means spring and then summer is right around the corner, and we can all try and forget about the Patriots game. Sorry, but paying more money for the whole Fenway Park experience is worth it. And before you all start yapping, I have been going to Fenway Park since I was a kid. I'll take the way things are now WAY over what I experienced way back when.
I was disappointed...it wasn't on NESN :(
Hey it's better than Groundhog day and I got to annoy the yankee fans in off season - always a good thing
Oh damn it , just found out Saturday was truck day, do you think they'll stop in Baltimore to pick up a couple things from Camden "Fenway South " Yards I want my grand babies to get a picture at the Park ! signed another transplanted Sox Fan .
Well how do you figure a team like the Sox can keep up with the Yankee$ if they don't rely on the fans to spend big money on the team? Call it overpriced if you want to but we are in a market economy and the price people are willing to pay is the correct price, hate as you may.
I spent alot of money on the Sox this past season and I am not at all sorry for that since they use it to make our city proud.
