The Red Sox have prevailed in their first official game of spring training, winning 8-3 over the Twins. They collected 12 hits to the Twins' eight. The Twins staged a rousing comeback in the ninth inning that fell short, by five runs.

We'll be back here at Hammond tomorrow for a day game. The Red Sox will be pitching Jon Lester and Jonathan Papelbon, among what will likely be a parade of pitchers (as it always is during spring training).
