Waxman: Nanny puts Clemens at Canseco's house
Mark Souder (R., Pa.) railed against a "wall of silence" among major league baseball players that allow the drug culture to prevail in the game, and also raised questions about ownership complicity.
William Clay (D., Mo.) got all starry-eyed during his questioning of Clemens, asking him if he knew what uniform he'd be wearing to the Hall of Fame.
"Somebody is trying to break my spirit in the room,'' Clemens said. "They're not going to break my spirit.''
Waxman is now noting that Clemens's former nanny said she was at Canseco's house, that Clemens' wife Debbie and the children overnighted at Canseco's, that Canseco was also there, and that Clemens called her to come to his house Sunday, even though he hasn't seen Clemens since 2001.

Roger should have come clean and told the truth from the beginning like Andy Pettite did. Roger painted himself into this corner. As a result, he may very well find himself in prison issue pinstripes.
Roger blew it with the Nanny! Clemens could've fought his way out of all this he said, he said stuff but with the Nanny situation, I think he just sank his own battle ship. Why on earth would you say you weren't at Canseco's house for that party and forget to make sure that the Nanny was on the same page. And then go ahead and invite this "Nanny" to your house whom you haven't seen in 7-8 yrs over to discuss what the committee might ask her about said party. Never mind delaying the committee access to the Nanny's name for a 24 hour period.
What an idiot!
And some of the committee members who were obviously on your side just don't get it. Nice try Mrs. Foxx, and why wasn't there a picture of Clemens from the early 90's on your nice picture board. You know, a picture of Clemens before the alleged steroid use.
Some of those committee members need to clean out there ears too. Clemens wasn't saying Pettitte lied, Clemens believe Andy is being truthful about what he thinks he knew. Clemens didn't say Andy Pettitte lied.
If the Nanny thing never came to light, no one could believe (Factually) that it could be proven in a court of law the Clemens was lying. With evidence procedures these days, those needles and gauze pads wouldn't see the inside of a court room. (I watch Law & Order) lol
Touche to Mcnamee. He lied to try and protect those player names from getting out. Thanks to Chuck Knoblach & Pettitte for being honest.
Wear whatever uniform you want to the Hall of Fame Roger. But we all know everything was on the up and up in Boston, prior to 1998.
HE SHOULD GET THE MAX, YOU CAN LIE TO YOUR WIFE, OR LIE TO ESPN, BUT YOU LIE UNDER OATH TO CONGRESS, YOU SHOULD GET PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. NO MATTER HOW MANY HOME RUNS YOU'VE HIT OR BATTERS YOU'VE STRUCK OUT, YOU ARE STILL SUBJECT TO THE LAWS OF THE LAND. AFTER MAKING A MOCKERY OF THE SYSTEM, WATCHING HIM BEING ESCORTED TO PRISON WILL BE THE ONE OF THE BEST DAYS IN SPORTS. AS FAR AS ANDY PETTIT, I HAVE A NEW RESPECT FOR THAT MAN. ( AND I'M A RED SOX FAN FOR 45 YRS ) JOHN P
That guy who asked Clemens about his HOF number needs to be kicked out of Congress. That's just awful.
i think clemens took the steroid. Instead of tell everybody that he took steroid, he worry that his reputation will be destroy. I think that he and his lawers blame his wife, so he'll clean and his reputation will not detained. i think that his wife will do anything to protected him from going to jail or tainted his name.
Not looking good for the Rocketman at all! I really think he is lying and now he is just sticking to his guns hoping they cant prove it.
I believe that Roger Clemens is lying. I am a fan of Rogers and have been for years, but I have lost respect for him. I think that he has shown his true colors as a human being througout this whole situation. For this man to try to blame everyone for everything and not take responsibility for his actions is terrible. What lessons are he showing his own children? I know that he is thinking about the hof, but just own up to somethings. If Congress has any sense they will ask for an investigation for the mere reason behind the nanny conversation. If Roger had nothing to hide all he had to do was give them the nannys name and contact information. Instead he did them a FAVOR, yeah right. He was trying to do himself a favor. It seems to me that he tampered with the testimony of the nanny.
