Beckett looks strong

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff March 23, 2008 01:33 PM

FORT MYERS - According to Sox farm director Mike Hazen, Josh Beckett threw two very good innings against Double A hitters Sunday morning at the minor league complex. The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. was played at 10:30 a.m. to beat the rain forecast in the area.

Hazen said Beckett was throwing about 93 miles per hour and had good movement on his pitches that had hitters shaking their heads. Beckett threw 32 pitches and appears ready to advance to the next level - which could be four innings Friday.
