FORT MYERS, Fla. - Josh Beckett will throw for the first time since incurring his back injury tomorrow morning at City of Palms Park. Terry Francona made the announcement after today's 16-6 Sox win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Francona said Beckett will throw from 60 feet.

The Sox pounded out 18 hits today. Joe Thurston and J.D. Drew led the way with three hits, Jason Varitek connected for a three-run homer. Andrew Pinckney, and Brandon Moss also homered. Kevin Youkilis and Mike Lowell each knocked in a pair of runs.

The Sox roughed up Reds pitching prospect Homer Bailey for six runs and seven hits in 3-1/3 innings. The game also marked the successful return of shortstop Julio Lugo from a back injury. Lugo went 2-for-3 with a double.
