Dice-K done

Posted by Dan Shaughnessy, Globe Staff March 9, 2008 02:51 PM

Dice K is out of the game in the fourth inning. He threw 72 pitches and turned the ball over to Bryan Corey in the fourth, trailing, 3-0. Matsuzaka gave up three hits, including a three-run homer to Matt Kemp in the first inning.

The Sox, who have scored only six runs in their last three games, have only two hits through four innings. Boston is in danger of losing its sixth straight exhibtion game.

WEEI's Jon Meterparel is making his radio debut and clearly has his A game. It's been a little hard to concentrate here in the press box with Meter at the mike in row one, delivering with maximum exuberance on every play.

  1. I haven't heard any broadcasts with "Meter" but if I had to guess this is a ploy by the Red Sox to drive off the remaining fans from free radio broadcasts to NESN. I don't think I could take even one inning with that blowhard. They say some people have a face for radio. Meter has a voice for newpapers.
