Fort Myers send-off celebration
The Red Sox will host a send-off celebration tomorrow in Fort Myers as the World Series champs prepare for an 18-day road trip including the team's first-ever regular season series in Japan.
The day-long celebration will take place at City of Palms Park on Edison Ave. in Fort Myers and will include in-game fan giveaways and post-game festivities where fans can gather to cheer the Red Sox players on as they board buses for the airport.
The Red Sox take on the Blue Jays in their final spring training game tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. at City of Palms Park. After the 7th inning, the gates will open and fans purchasing standing room only tickets will be able to enter the ballpark to join in the send-off.
The Boston Globe and Boston.com will keep you updated on the Red Sox all season long.
