Game time...

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff March 21, 2008 10:57 PM

TOKYO -- It's just about time for the Sox to play their first game here in Japan.

The Sox have been called out onto the field, where they have lined up on the first base side. The lineup is being read, and flashes are going off all over the park. David Ortiz got the biggest ovation. Manny Ramirez had his name mispronounced. So did Jacoby Ellsbury.

Also, on the Hanshin Tigers, is old friend Lew Ford, who got some time in with Mike Timlin and Tim Wakefield before the game.
