Lester makes 2d start

Posted by Gordon Edes, Globe Staff March 5, 2008 09:24 AM

Jon Lester, who had control issues in his first spring outing, goes today against the Reds. He'll be opposed by the Reds' top pitching prospect, Homer Bailey. Sox are being cautious with Coco Crisp, who has a sore groin. Former Sox catcher Scott Hatteberg is here with the Reds; no Junior Griffey, but Dusty Baker makes his Fort Myers debut as manager of the Reds.

The lineups:

Reds

Ryan Freel CF
Scott Hatteberg DH
Brandon Phillips 2B
Edwin Encarnacion 3B
Joey Votto 1B
Juan Castro SS
Drew Anderson LF
Jolbert Cabrera RF
Paul Bako C
Homer Bailey SP

Red Sox:

Dustin Pedroia 2B
Kevin Youkilis 1B
Jason Varitek DH
Manny Ramirez LF
Mike Lowell 3B
J.D. Drew RF
Julio Lugo SS
Jonathan Van Every CF
Kevin Cash C
Jon Lester SP
