Matsuzaka's afternoon

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff March 4, 2008 01:52 PM

Daisuke Matsuzaka should be done for the day, after throwing 47 pitches (28 strikes) over three innings of work.

In the third, he started by walking Nyjer Morgan, before Morgan was caught stealing, Jason Varitek to Alex Cora. Then Matsuzaka got Andrew McCutchen to ground out to third, and struck out Freddy Sanchez looking.

  1. I heard Jay Patts threw 2 strong innings of relief after Dice-K. I really hope he makes the team.
