Missed chance

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff March 26, 2008 07:01 AM

Third baseman Jack Hannahan just made an excellent play -- leaving his feet to grab a foul ball that ended behind him -- to erase a chance for the Red Sox. The team had men on first and second with two outs and David Ortiz at the plate.

But the XL foul territory at the Tokyo Dome foiled Ortiz.

Harden, meanwhile, had three straight strikeouts, the last two of the second inning and the first of the third, and has five through three innings.
