The Sox are six innings in to this one, and have yet to collect a hit. They haven't come close to a hit. Hiroki Kuroda, the latest Japanese sensation to come over here, went the first four innings and was dominating, whiffing six guys while allowing just one ball out of the infield, Dustin Pedroia's liner to center in the third. Kuroda struck out Kevin Youkilis, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez after issuing a leadoff walk to Pedroia. He also struck out Youkilis and Ramirez in the fourth.
Lefty phenom Clayton Kershaw followed Kuroda to the hill, and went six up, six down, striking out Coco Crisp and Pedroia.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, jumped on Clay Buchholz for four runs in the third on five singles, a walk and Crisp's fielding error, Crisp dropping a ball he lost in the sun. Buchholz was lifted after walking the first two batters in the fourth.
Crisp made a sensational leaping catch at the wall in the fifth.
Dodgers 5, Sox 0, through 6.
