Sox lose 3-1....and that was Holdzkom on the hill

Posted by Gordon Edes, Globe Staff March 29, 2008 01:41 AM

Lincoln Holdzkom, who was a Rule 5 pick returned by the Phillies, took the loss after giving up two runs in the eighth. Your faithful blogger was under the mistaken impression that Jose Vaquedano had entered but it was Holdzkom who gave up a walk, wild pitch, double, single and hit batsman before departing.

I wish I could blame my error on jet lag from Japan, but that wouldn't be true. Holdzkom probably wishes he could blame it on jet lag, too, but he wasn't in Japan.

Terry Francona announced after the game that Bartolo Colon will pitch Pawtucket's opener on Thursday.
