Tied up through two innings

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff March 4, 2008 01:11 PM

We've gotten through the first 12 outs of today's game against the Pirates, and the two teams are tied at 1-1 as Daisuke Matsuzaka takes the mound for his third inning of work.

Matsuzaka has allowed two hits, a double with two outs in the first inning, then a triple after a walk to Doug Mientkiewicz that scored the Pirates' one run of the game. He stranded Brian Bixler on third, though, getting Josh Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Sox struck for one in the second inning, a double by Manny Ramirez followed by an RBI single by J.D. Drew.
