Another one in

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 8, 2008 03:42 PM

The Sox tallied another run, to bring the score to 3-0, in the fourth inning. Julio Lugo reached on a single, heading to second base on a bad throw by Miguel Cabrera (the Tigers' second error of the afternoon).

Lugo then went to third on Dustin Pedroia's single to center, and came home on Kevin Youkilis's sacrifice fly to center.

Meanwhile, Daisuke Matsuzaka had not allowed a hit since the first inning. The only batter to reach, Placido Polanco, who walked, was immediately erased on double play ball by Gary Sheffield to third.

But then Matsuzaka walked Cabrera to open the inning. After getting two outs, he allowed a single to Jacque Jones down the right field line. He got out of it, though, when Brandon Inge lofted a fly ball to Manny Ramirez to end the inning.
