Big night for Lowrie

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 15, 2008 09:26 PM

Jed Lowrie, in his major league debut, has driven in all three of the Red Sox runs, as the Sox lead the Indians, 3-2.

Lowrie drove in one on a fielder's choice in the fifth inning, then gathered in two more RBIs and his first major league hit in the seventh inning.

I spoke to Lowrie before today's game, and he swore he wasn't nervous. Not sure I entirely believed that one, but he was sitting there calmly in front of his locker, reading a magazine. No biting of fingernails or gnashing of teeth, as far as I could see.
