Flag raising
As soon as David Ortiz got his ring, the last to be given out, he led the rest of the team out to the outfield just under the flag pole. They stood as a group, circling the warning track by the flag. Ortiz and Johnny Pesky took turns with the flag, helping pull the rope to get the 2007 banner up under the American flag.
Many of the players, including Ortiz and Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez, gave Pesky hugs once he finished.
And Schilling, as he walked back toward the dugout, as he went through the outfield, took off his cap and waved it to the fans. It might be the last chance he gets, after all.
