Good timing

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 26, 2008 09:45 PM

That was some good timing for Akinori Iwamura's first home run of the season.

Iwamura hit the shot to right field with one aboard in the eighth inning off Clay Buchholz, who had been nearly unhittable up to the eighth. He had, in fact, given up just one hit before allowing the two-run home run that put the Rays up 2-1 as we head to the top of the ninth inning.

The nine strikeouts do match Buchholz's career high in Ks.

  1. The above comment says it all! Clay Bucholz was terrific!!!!!
Tony Francona was not. I am surprised at him for not knowing and admitting that his wrong decision-making....time to put Papelbon in game...lost us the game! Ten
