Injury updates

In addition to Kevin Youkilis, there's a whole bunch of guys on the Red Sox who were in need of training room time today. Here's the rundown...

Coco Crisp. The centerfielder said his hamstring is doing OK. He's a little sore, but he's hoping to play by tomorrow or the weekend. He said it was nothing serious, and that the warm weather should help the muscle.

Alex Cora. Cora had an MRI yesterday, but experienced some anxiety during the test. The medical people tried to read the results, but Cora was headed back for an open MRI test to make sure that they didn't miss anything.

Mike Lowell. Terry Francona said yesterday was Lowell's best day, by far, since being injured. They were moving the thumb around, but certainly didn't want Lowell to regress. Francona did say that the odds were against Lowell being ready to come off the disabled list when he's eligible. He still needs to progress to hitting off a tee, then to taking batting practice, then to being jammed in a game or making a dive on the field.

Bartolo Colon. No news on the big guy. We'll let you know when there finally is something on his strained oblique.
