It's raining runs

NEW YORK - The Red Sox have certainly shown a fighting spirit the past few days and tonight is no exception.

Down 7-3, they have roared back in the fifth to take a 9-7 lead with six runs in the fifth, sending Chien Ming-Wang to the showers and reliever Ross Ohlendorf. Dustin Pedroia had a double and a single in the inning and actually ignited the rally. David Ortiz (single) and Sean Casey (single) have one RBI, while Pedroia, J.D Drew have knocked in two apiece.

Red Sox a starting pitching has been nothing to write home about lately and Clay Buchholz was the worst of a poor lot lately. He lasted only 3-2/3 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits. It's up to Julian Tavarez to hold the status quo - a 9-7 lead here in the bottom of the fifth.

  1. Why Francona wasted that much time with Buch and Tavarez? We took the lead, Francona blew it. We too the lead again, Francona blew again! :(

  1. Time to send Tavarez on his way. He is useless.
