J.D !

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff April 4, 2008 09:03 PM

TORONTO - As hits go, J.D. Drew's three-run homer in the 7th is right up there on the clutch-o-meter.

Drew launched a three-run shot to right field on a 2-2 pitch by Shaun Marcum to tie the game at 3-3.

Talk about shocking. Marcum seemed to be untouchable in being staked to a 3-0 lead. In the 7th, he sandwiched a walk to David Ortiz around strikeouts by Kevin Youkilis and Manny Ramirez. But Mike Lowell reached out to poke a single over Aaron Hill's head into short right field. Drew went 2-0 on Marcum, but the righty battled back to 2-2.
