Lowell injured

Posted by Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff April 9, 2008 07:55 PM

We thought it was Kevin Youkilis who hurt himself when he took a Carlos Guillen grounder off the chest in the second, but Mike Lowell was pinch-hit for in the bottom of the second by Sean Casey (who singled) .Youkilis moved to third and Casey moved into first.

The Sox have not yet announced Lowell's injury.

The Sox scored twice in the second inning when they loaded the bases against Jeremy Bonderman and got one run in on Jacoby Ellsbury's bases loaded walk and Julio Lugo's single. Placido Polanco, who had gone 911 chances before making a throwing error on Tuesday, booted Jason Varitek's grounder to load the bases.
