Masterson to Portland

After today’s game, the Red Sox optioned pitcher Justin Masterson back to Double-A Portland.

The Sox will purchase the contract of Bryan Corey from Triple-A Pawtucket to replace Masterson on the active roster, effective tomorrow.

might be a better idea to option del carmen and timlin to portland...oregon. its fairly obvious that timlin is all done. a great competitor but simply over the hill with nothing on his pitches. del carmen has been vastly overrated for two years. if he doesn't give up a home run, its a moral victory. just seeing him get up in the pen gives me a feeling of great anxiety. for every half way decent outiing he has, he'll have two bad ones. enough already!
