Matsuzaka and the ring

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 8, 2008 01:52 PM

Daisuke Matsuzaka was not part of the ring ceremony, since he's pitching this afternoon. While the names were being called and the other players were collecting their rings, Matsuzaka was playing catch in the outfield, readying himself for his start.

They are finishing up player introductions right now, with the players lined up along the base lines. It's about the 750th time the Red Sox have done these introductions in the last month.

  1. I remember 1986 very clearly and the thing that always stood out in my mind the most was what Bill Buckner had to endure to play as much as he did. I remember him hobbling around the bases fighting through pain in his feet and ankles. I remember the heart he played with. A lot of ballplayers these days could use Billy Buck's heart because they would not of played in half the games he did with those nagging injuries. Thank You for coming back Mr. Buckner.
