Nine is enough

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 30, 2008 08:55 PM

Daisuke Matsuzaka needed just nine pitches to get three outs in the seventh inning, plowing through Vernon Wells, Lyle Overbay, and Aaron Hill.

It remains scoreless as we head to the bottom of the seventh, the second straight night that the Red Sox and Blue Jays have not scored a run until at least the seventh inning stretch.

Dustin McGowan, who threw just 74 pitches through six innings, is back on the mound for Toronto.
