The Sox scratched Daiskue Matsuzaka from the starting lineup today because he is suffering from the effects of a flu-bug that has hit the clubhouse the last few days.

Jon Lester will take the mound vs. the Angels today.

  1. seriously, they shouldn't let anyone feeling bad anywhere near the clubhouse. Maybe driving Varitek to the park on Saturday when he was too sick to drive himself wasn't such a good idea...is Francona trying to get his entire team sick? also i hope they're testing Beckett for meningitis...it can be a complication of the flu and usually presents itself with a stiff neck.

  1. That is two scratches in a row! Who will be next? Lets start working our way around the diamond I guess...it doesn't seem to have too much of an effect on the outcome of the games right now, and hopefully that will prove valuable at the end of the regular season.
