With two outs, Carlos Pena shot a single that hit off the top of Dustin Pedroia's glove in short right field. That was followed by an intentional walk to super-rookie Evan Longoria, which brought up Eric Hinske with the bases loaded.

The Red Sox brought on Javier Lopez to pitch to Hinske, relieving Bryan Corey.

But Hinske could get it done, though just barely, sending a fly ball to the warning track where it was caught by J.D. Drew.
