Ortiz scratched tonight

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 26, 2008 04:05 PM

Brandon Moss has joined the Red Sox in Tampa, and the corresponding move might be a trip to the DL for Sean Casey. Casey suffered a strained right hip flexor in last night's game.

In other news, David Ortiz was in the original Red Sox lineup, but a second lineup has been posted, and Ortiz has been scratched.

Here's the Red Sox lineup:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, RF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. J. D. Drew, DH
4. Manny Ramirez, LF
5. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
6. Coco Crisp, CF
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Jed Lowrie, 3B
9. Julio Lugo, SS
-- Clay Buchholz, SP

More to come.

  1. Did he end up hurting himself on the stupid belly flop into first last night?

  1. It would certainly appear that the "organizational depth" of the likes of Jed Lowrie, etc are coming in handy with all these little nicks, etc.

    @Ian...I thought the same thing!
