That is now 2 consecutive games where we had great pitching and our offense couldn't do anything. Better get there offense back together from day off. Good job by Beckett and Buchholz in those two games.
I hate to make excuses but, with 20 games in 20 days and a clubhouse full of the flu, we were ripe for the pickin'. Glad to see that our guys have the day off at home tomorrow before they start their next homestand.
Masterson's start wasn't half bad either. Also, I hate Sweet Caroline, but it really bugs me how the Rays play it after they beat the Sox. It screams bush league juvenile antics to me. They won the game, I don't see why the organization has to rub it in on the Sox team.
Sweet Caroline? What? Are the Rays that unoriginal that they have to steal a Boston tradition for their own? What's next, will the Yankees start playing music from the Dropkick Murphys?
I agree, the pitching is there, just got to wake up the bats. But, seriously, it's still april. The Sox know how to get it done. What concerns me more is why does "Sweet Caroline" get played at Tropicana Field? The Devil Rays fans jumped on the 1918 chants back in 2003 and 2004 when they have never won a world series, and now they steal the stadium songs of other teams? Can't the folks in Tampa think of their own traditions?
