Rays win again

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 26, 2008 09:52 PM

The Rays took a second straight game from the Red Sox this series -- and will try for the sweep tomorrow afternoon.

On the strength of Akinori Iwamura's two-run home run in the eighth inning, the Rays made a tough-luck loser of Clay Buchholz, who pitched extremely well.

Troy Percival closed it out for Tampa Bay.

  1. For such a dramatic development and ending--and hard-luck scenario for Buchholz, plus questionable decisions on the part of Francona--this is weak reporting. If this is what we get, why bother?

  1. Did Franconca leave Buchholz too long?
