Sox take the lead

Posted by Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff April 14, 2008 10:33 PM

There aren't a lot of people left in the frigid Cleveland night, but those who are here are certainly booing.

Joe Borowski just gave up a long out to left, which turned into a sacrifice fly when Julio Lugo scored the Red Sox fourth run of the night. Then David Ortiz dumped a bloop into left field, followed by the big blow: a home run for Manny Ramirez. That was his 493rd home run, tying him with Lou Gehrig and Fred McGriff for 24th all-time.

The two-run shot also made the score 6-4, Red Sox.

Jonathan Papelbon and Hideki Okajima are warming in the bullpen.
