Sox walk off winners
Deja vu?
With men on first and second base and no outs -- last night the rally came with two outs -- Mike Lowell struck out looking. That brought up Brandon Moss in a key situation. And Moss converted, his single heading up the middle like Kevin Youkilis's did yesterday.
But Jed Lowrie, the pinch runner for David Ortiz, was called out at the plate for the second out of the inning. Rod Barajas did a masterful job of blocking the plate, grabbing the second out of the inning.
Jason Varitek made it happen, though, his single to center bringing home Manny Ramirez.
That's a 2-1 win for the Sox.

A all the way around. They battled through injuries, illness, mostly too cold for normal baseball weather, and facing the pitching ace of every team they played.
A The trip to Japan, injuries, sickness, 20 straight games. The hitting has dipped a bit, the starting pitching often not going deep enough (not recently) have all made it harder but all in all, I think they are showing their grit!!!!!!!
A grade of "B". The travel, the injuries, the flu, the rookies play, & the 20 consecutive days w/o a break were tough to deal with. It would have been a grade of "A", except for the bullpen blowing some games.
On a relative grade scale, an A- is most fair, under the circumstances. After all, despite all these difficulties, not endured by other teams in their division, the Sox nevertheless, did end up with the best division record.
