Sox win, 4-3
After his 2 hour, 12 minute delayed strikeout of Alex Rodriguez, Jonathan Papelbon finished off the Yankees in the top of the ninth inning, giving the Sox a 4-3 win.
He struck out Jason Giambi swinging on a 95 mile per hour fastball, then got Jorge Posada swinging on a 96 mile per hour fastball (after an eight-pitch at bat).
Robinson Cano battled through 10 pitches of his own before grounding to second.

Did the Red Sox-Yankees game just get blacked out for NASCAR???? IN BOSTON???? After I waited two hours?????? Fox Sports Broadcasting, ladies and gentlemen!
UNREAL!!! Fox showed the game after the rain delay...then with 2 outs, 2 strikes..they cut away to that dumb racecar thing!!! Hopefully heads will roll at Fox for this.
This isn't 2002...nascar pretty much died out about 4 or 5 years ago. Just because Fox got stuck with the TV contract back when the sport used to be popular, shouldn't mean they should jam it down our throats now!!!!
What happened to the damn coverage....FOX Sucks....after waiting for a long rain delay, they cut the game off in the 9th, 2 outs and full count....BOOM GONE...FOX is horrible at broadcasting the games, and now this??? I'm sitting looking at freaking racing... THAT'S JUST WRONG... I HATE FOX SPORTS and now I have another reason to... They cut off the Sox and Yankees, WHAT????????????
I can't believe that FOX switched to the NASCAR race with just 1 strike left in the game. Yea they said "switch to FOX FX for the remainder of the game" but by the time we figured where FOX FX was the game was over. Plus they disrupted people watching a movie on FX. This was totally rediculous! They should forfeit all future rights to broadcast any games.
Yeah, of course nobody saw the end because Fox cut off to NASCAR with 2 out and two strikes. What a bunch of IDIOTS at FOX... cutting off for a sport where most of the people watch have no teeth. NICE JOB FOX!!!
