Kevin Youkilis got three chances in the top of the first inning ... and converted all of them.

The best play of the bunch was a barehanded grab on a bouncer by Placido Polanco, which seemed to nick the edge of the third base bag on its way to Youkilis. He sandwiched the plays around a ball to Gary Sheffield, the only Tiger to reach in the inning.
